According to the company’s press service, MegaFon will provide technical solutions for the transmission of gas supply data to Gazprom Mezhregiongaz.
The relevant agreement was signed between MegaFon CEO Khachatur Pombukhchan and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz CEO Sergei Gustov in St. It was reached within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“One of our main goals is the maximum coverage of remote control of gas supply in the domestic market, and the most important part in this direction is joint work with a telecom operator that can provide uninterrupted data transfer,” said Sergey Gustov.
MegaFon will develop a solution based on Internet of Things technologies, with which it will be possible to track the volume of gas consumption with high accuracy and remote monitoring of objects involved in this process.
“Gazprom Mezhregiongaz’s working geography covers almost the entire country. We also have the maximum network coverage and data transfer speeds among telecom operators,” said Khachatur Pombukhchan.
MegaFon will also develop a draft federal tariff ensuring information security for all types of data transmission devices of the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz company.
Previously, the parties launched a pilot project in the Vologda region, where more than 300 smart devices were installed.
