“Cognac prices will increase mainly in line with inflation. Indexation of the excise tax on cognac in Russia since the beginning of the year amounted to 4% and is already included in current prices. The revision of minimum prices for brandy and cognac was also postponed by the Russian Ministry of Finance. “This year, a slight increase of 1 percent in the production of cognac alcoholic beverages is planned in the main producer Dagestan,” he said.
According to his assessment, the dynamics so far indicate a decrease in cognac production in Russia by 5.5% in January-February 2024.
“As for supplies from Armenia and Georgia to Russia, everything depends on foreign policy factors. For now, these are the main suppliers from abroad. There are imports from abroad. The expert noted that these prices will be affected by the ruble exchange rate.
The minimum retail price for cognac from January 1, 2023 is 517 rubles. 0.5 l per bottle.
