Belarus is planning to launch production of its own electric vehicles in the late summer to early autumn period of 2024, according to a report from TASS citing Deputy Prime Minister Pyotr Parkhomchik.

There is a comprehensive plan to produce a pilot batch of five Belarusian electric vehicles. It is expected that the five passenger electric vehicles will be completed by August or September, Parkhomchik stated.

The plan foresees the start of mass production by the end of 2024, with testing also underway for the country’s first battery intended for electric vehicles.

Earlier announcements indicated Belarus would roll out electric cars in November 2023, with the first model based on the BelGee X50 platform.

Previously, it was noted that Dongfeng introduced a new hybrid crossover, the Aeolus L7. The vehicle features a hybrid propulsion system built around a 1.5-liter turbo engine, producing about 360 horsepower. Its battery capacity of 30.31 kWh supports roughly 205 kilometers on electricity alone, while the overall driving range reaches about 1500 kilometers.

The crossover is characterized by distinctive details such as slim headlights, concealed door handles, and a dark trim across the front, middle, and rear pillars, complemented by a glass-tinted “floating” roof effect.

Russians have also highlighted three reliable methods for purchasing a used car, illustrating the ongoing interest in practical, cost-conscious automotive choices.
