Salaries of doctors in small towns, regional centers and villages will be increased from April 1. This was stated by RIA News Associate Professor of the basic department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Russian University of Economics “Human Resource Management”. He said that the government has decided to provide social payments to healthcare workers working in rural areas, regional centers and small towns. The size of the payments depends on the number of people living in the settlements.
Ivanova-Shvets noted that these payments are very important because the salaries of doctors in small regions are very low and staff shortages have become critical.
In cities with a population of 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, doctors for mid-level medical workers will receive an additional 29 thousand rubles, the average staff – 13 thousand, and in settlements with a population of 50 thousand to less than 50 thousand rubles – 30 thousand rubles.
Starting from April, the salary portion of all healthcare workers will be increased to 50 percent.
