The Chairman of the Federation Council instructed to develop a program for the revival of the elevator industry in Russia by May. He stated this at a meeting with DOM.RF general director Vitaly Mutko. Interfax.
“At the end of April – early May, the government will present a road map for the elevator industry. We need to restore all our factories and load them to the maximum, we must stop playing with these competitions. The facility must have been in stable order for at least five years. Matvienko said in May that we should approve such a revival program.
Currently, there are more than 80 thousand elevators in Russian apartment buildings that have expired and must be replaced by February 15, 2025.
Previously, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Construction Alexander Lomakin stated that the road map for the transition to direct purchase of elevators from manufacturers could be agreed upon by the end of 2023. Currently, such purchases are carried out through tenders with the participation of contractors within the scope of revision programs.
The government, together with the State Duma and the business community, discussed measures to support elevator engineering. The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed import substitution measures in industry, as well as a transition to direct purchase of elevators from factories for replacement in residential buildings.
According to the Ministry of Construction, approximately 15 thousand of the 545 thousand elevators operated in apartment buildings in Russia are replaced every year.
