Almost 50% of women dream of an unexpected surprise on March 8, and another 30% prefer money to choose the desired item themselves. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by VTB and Otkritie Bank; socialbites.ca has a copy.
27% of women enjoy receiving a traditional bouquet, while 21% are happy to receive a gift certificate. However, some of the participants (5%) stated that they did not want gifts.
More than half of women (55%) do not plan to spend money on holiday preparations (beauty salons, make-up and clothes). In general, they are ready to spend up to 10 thousand rubles to look 100%. Thus, 32 percent of women stated that they would spend 3-5 thousand rubles. 16 percent of respondents plan to spend up to 3 thousand, 10 percent are ready to spend 5-10 thousand, only 3 percent of women will spend more than 10 thousand.
Men traditionally give flowers to women (43% of respondents). Another 34% will give an unexpected surprise and 17% will choose money as a gift. The minority (6%) will help update their wardrobe. In general, the majority of men (63%) will spend up to 5 thousand rubles on gifts, 20% between 5 and 10 thousand, and 7% more than 10 thousand rubles.
At the same time, the majority of Russians (69%) view gender holidays on February 23 and March 8 positively.
