PiS MP Przemysław Czarnek spoke on Telewizja wPolska, among other things: about Donald Tusk’s coalition plans to take over the Constitutional Court. The politician revealed how PiS wants to defend the Constitutional Tribunal against the government’s expected illegal actions.
As for the law, please pass it yourself, there is still the President, there is still the Constitutional Court. As for the resolution – I have read it – it is a bunch of nonsense, with the help of which they want to dismiss several judges of the Constitutional Court who were elected by an absolute majority of votes by the democratic Sejm, in accordance with the Constitution, sworn in by the president and who have been issuing sentences for many years. Judgments, in turn, cannot be declared invalid, because they come into effect after they are published in the Journal of Laws, and they are all published there.
– he said Przemysław Czarnekreferring to legal acts on the Constitutional Tribunal already prepared by Donald Tusk’s coalition.
We are dealing with a new attempt at a constitutional coup, an attack on the constitution, a coup through violation of the constitution, and we will of course respond to this attempt with appropriate methods in accordance with the law.
– added.
“We will defend the Constitutional Tribunal”
How does PiS want to defend the Constitutional Court?
First of all, where possible, complain about it to various authorities responsible for appealing against such pseudo-legal acts. I would like to remind you that Sejm resolutions may be subject to review by the Constitutional Court. If necessary, we will also complain about this to international organizations, but above all we will defend the Constitutional Court. Five judges legally hold office on the Constitutional Court and will not be permanently removed. They will want to forcibly enter the Constitutional Tribunal and depose judges, just as they deposed the TVP boards or the legal national prosecutor, Dariusz Barski.
– he said.
This is an attack on the last bastions of the rule of law
– he pointed out.
