Alexey Plotnikov, Secretary General of the Russian Association of Vintners and Vintners (AVVR), said that the association asked the Russian authorities to set duties on wine imports from NATO countries at 200%. This was reported by RIA News.
“We decided to once again appeal to the government and the State Duma with a request to strengthen measures to protect the Russian market and send the AVVR position to the government of the Russian Federation and the Expert Council of the Economic Policy Committee of the State Duma. “Including the establishment of import duties on wine, sparkling wine and fortified wines from NATO countries at 200%,” Plotnikov said.
He also added that the preferential import duties regime applied to wines from Georgia should be abolished.
