Proposed 200% tax on wine from NATO countries 22:13

Alexey Plotnikov, Secretary General of the Russian Association of Vintners and Vintners (AVVR), said that the association asked the Russian authorities to set duties on wine imports from NATO countries at 200%. This was reported by RIA News.

“We decided to once again appeal to the government and the State Duma with a request to strengthen measures to protect the Russian market and send the AVVR position to the government of the Russian Federation and the Expert Council of the Economic Policy Committee of the State Duma. “Including the establishment of import duties on wine, sparkling wine and fortified wines from NATO countries at 200%,” Plotnikov said.

He also added that the preferential import duties regime applied to wines from Georgia should be abolished.

Before reportedIt is stated that the cost of Abkhazian wines for Russians may soon increase. This is due to the increased consumption tax on raw materials imported into the republic. Abkhazia purchases bottles and caps abroad from Russia and Portugal, respectively. The increase in the cost of these goods also leads to an increase in the price of the company’s final products.
