According to the information provided by RIA Novosti NTI, the first regions in Russia to start cargo delivery with unmanned aerial vehicles will be the Samara region, as well as the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. At the same time, Moscow and the region also have significant potential in this field.
According to Alexey Khripunov, General Director of the Aeroscript Research Center and Aeronet NTI participant, about 500 thousand unmanned aerial vehicles can be used in cargo delivery by 2030. He noted that the development of air logistics will take place primarily in remote and hard-to-reach regions such as the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and the Samara Region.
Khripunov expressed the opinion that Moscow and the Moscow region have potential for the development of air logistics, but there is currently no activity in this direction. It also predicts significant growth in the market for contactless goods and cargo delivery using drones in the next 10 years. With the development of new aircraft types, new opportunities for air logistics arise.
The use of drones for the delivery of small cargoes will become economically justified and will increase the overall delivery speed. This also opens up the possibility of “last-mile delivery” within cities and towns, which will help improve transport infrastructure and the environmental situation.
The use of modern automation technologies, including artificial intelligence, will help optimize logistics processes and reduce the number of people involved in this area.
