Sber opened the School 21 campus in Magas based on the Digital Development Academy, the bank’s press service reported. The project was implemented at the initiative of Ingushetia leader Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, with the support of the SAFMAR group.
The campus is located on three floors of the academy and its area is 3500 m2. It is stated that the school clusters where the study areas are located are named after the basic values of the Ingush people.
The campus is expected to be the basis of an educational cluster created by the SAFMAR group in Ingushetia. In addition to the school, it is planned to host business accelerators and other innovative projects for the development of the region on the territory of the Digital Development Academy.
According to the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank German Gref, there is a huge potential in the Caucasus and today there are a lot of young people who are mainly involved in sports.
“Sports are undoubtedly important, but we remember very well the times when not only great athletes, but also great scientists emerged from the Ingush lands and the Caucasus. “We want to add ultra-modern intellectual professions to the interests of young people in the Caucasus, which will allow children from here, from Ingushetia, to work in the best Russian companies,” he said.
The head of Sberbank explained: “School 21 offers 14 specialties that are most in demand on the market today, from programming to engineering specialties.
“We opened the first recruitment for 150 places in Magas and received 3,000 applications; This is a record number of applications. Moreover, 93 percent of the applications come from a single republic, Ingushetia. Gref stated that many children from neighboring republics will come and study here.
More than 300 people are currently taking part in the first qualified intensive course at School 21 in Magas. Today, more than 4,900 people from 70 regions of Russia study at School 21’s eight campuses in Russia.
