Hungary will destroy 40 tons of genetically modified corn seeds imported from Ukraine. Products entering the country illegally, reports Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture.
“We strongly advocate that agricultural products imported from third countries meet the same standards as food products produced in the European Union,” said ministry head Istvan Nagy.
The department representative added that a criminal case has been filed against the distribution company.
Recently, Hungary announced that it would continue the ban on importing agricultural products from Ukraine, despite the insistence of the European Commission. Budapest believes that Ukrainian products are destroying the domestic market.
