Egg production in Russia increased by 1.8% in 2023 RIA News Referring to Rosstat data.

The service announced that egg production volume in December decreased slightly by 0.5% compared to the same period in 2022, falling to 3.212 billion units.

At the same time, the production of live-weight livestock and poultry for live-weight slaughter in agricultural enterprises of the Russian Federation increased by 3.1% last year compared to January-December 2022. Similar dynamics were seen in cattle (plus 6.9%, up to 1.11 million tonnes) and pork (plus 6.5%, up to 5.589 million tonnes) production.

Rosstat also recorded a decrease in the cost of chicken eggs between January 10 and 15; analysts noted such dynamics for the first time in six months. Last year, there was a 61.35% increase in egg prices.
