The Russian Travel Industry Association (RST) predicts a 19-20% increase in the number of tourist trips across the country by the end of 2023. This was reported by TASS Referring to the statement made by RCT Chairman Ilya Umansky at the General Assembly meeting of Sports and Tourism Day.
According to him, the flow of tourists to Russia this year may reach 86 million trips. For comparison, this figure was estimated to be around 72 million in 2022.
Umansky reminded that Russia should receive 140 million tourists annually by 2030. Providing such indicators falls within the scope of the tourism development strategy.
PCT expects the tourism industry to recover after the downturn due to the pandemic and travel restrictions. The increase in tourist flow will be possible with the increase in domestic tourism.
