The Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation has prepared amendments to the law on compulsory pension insurance. They will allow the indexation of pensions of self-employed retirees and the payment of social benefits to them. The newspaper reports this “News”.
Self-employed people are exempt from paying insurance premiums to the Pension Fund. However, they can make voluntary contributions to improve their retirement rights. At the same time, the state considers such people as working retirees.
For this reason, pensions are not indexed and some disability-related benefits are not paid. To rectify the situation, the Ministry of Labor decided to remove self-employed people who voluntarily contribute to retirement from the list of working citizens, the newspaper wrote.
Experts evaluate the initiative positively. According to them, paying contributions to the Pension Fund by self-employed retirees will restore justice and benefit.
But there are other options to solve the problem. For example, introducing a fixed annual pension contribution for the self-employed or an automatic deduction of 1% of their income.
The bill is currently being approved by the Department of Labor. If the law is adopted, self-employed retirees in Russia will benefit from social benefits for the first time.
previously lawyer listed Benefits that those waiting to retire in Moscow can claim.
Putin before signed the law on the delivery of pensions only by Russian Post.
