FAS recommends regional authorities negotiate egg prices with businesses

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) recommended that regional authorities conclude agreements with enterprises to stabilize chicken egg prices. This was reported based on a statement from the ministry. RBC.

Recommendations for signing such agreements were given by employees of FAS regional departments at interdepartmental meetings, which were also attended by representatives of retail chains and egg producers. It is proposed that the agreements be made taking into account the decision authorizing the authorities to conclude agreements with enterprises in order to stabilize prices of basic goods. It is allowed to set maximum prices for such goods.

Agreements on price stability were signed in ten regions of Russia. FAS exercises control over whether signed agreements violate anti-monopoly legislation norms and regulations of the federal government. The Ministry noted that egg prices have already started to fall in these regions as a result of the measures taken.
