Ryazan Oil Refining Company (NPK), part of the Rosneft complex, has introduced “digital” wagon scales for high-precision product accounting. This was reported by the company’s press service, which explained that the new equipment will significantly reduce weighing time and increase labor efficiency by eliminating potentially hazardous types of work.
The measuring platform of “digital” scales is installed on the concrete base of railway tracks. The scales are equipped with a computerized weighing control system. The sensors inside them can recognize the car’s number and record its weight with an accuracy of 0.2%. In this case, the load is determined before the wagons are separated and the train moves at speeds of up to 10 kilometers per hour.
The company noted that the commissioning of high-precision equipment is another stage in the implementation of the “digital facility” project. The project is a practical step in the implementation of Rosneft’s strategy to introduce advanced technological solutions and control automation to increase the efficiency of production facilities.
