Manufacturers of household appliances and electronics expect an increase in the cost of their products next year due to new environmental requirements proposed by the Ministry of Natural Resources. As part of the draft government decision, the Ministry of Natural Resources proposes to revise environmental collection rates and standards for the disposal of goods, which will come into force in 2024, the newspaper writes. “News”.
A letter was sent to the ministry from “RATEK”, the association of trading companies and manufacturers of electrical home appliances and computer equipment. The appeal states that the authorities plan to increase environmental fee rates by 2.3 times – from the current 26.5 thousand rubles per 1 ton to 59.4 thousand rubles per 1 ton.
Additionally, the Ministry of Natural Resources plans to increase recycling standards for these products from 15% to 25%. The business world believes that such measures will lead to increased prices of products, especially large household appliances.
RATEK is confident that prices are expected to increase, especially for popular washing machines. Currently, the share of environmental fees in the retail price of the Candy Smart CS34 washing machine (its cost is 17 thousand rubles and weighs 60.5 kg) is 1.4%, that is, 242 rubles. However, with the increase in the collection rate and recycling standard, this share will increase to 5.3%, that is, 908 rubles.
In addition, RATEK calculated that if a decision is made to increase the environmental fee rate and increase the recycling standard, the tax burden on companies will increase by 3.7 times.
The business is therefore requesting that the basic eco-fee rates for all groups of goods and packaging not be revised.
