Large Russian banks began to explore the possibility of purchasing domestic ATMs on the Elbrus processor, which will begin to appear in 2023. About author RBC refers to representatives of credit institutions.
According to the CEO and co-owner of BFS Artem Zhilonov, their organization will manufacture ATMs with Elbrus processors. Their release should begin in 2023. At the same time, at the beginning of the year, there is already a contract for the supply of 1.5 thousand such devices.
Bank representatives noted that they are interested in converting the ATM fleet to domestic devices. However, they will only be willing to consider offers from potential suppliers if they meet the technical, safety, ergonomic and design requirements.
Experts agreed that new ATMs can be competitive only if they are more technologically advanced and better than foreign analogues, and their price will be lower. However, it is still impossible to evaluate the performance of the domestic processor, since no one released it due to the transfer of production to Russia. In addition, it can take a long time, which will slow down the process of releasing the equipment.
At the end of May, Konstantin Trushkin, Executive Vice President of Marketing, MCST declarationHe said the company could transfer production of Elbrus processors from Taiwan to the Zelenograd Mikron factory. Moving can cost the company at least several billion rubles.
