The Ministry of Education and Science is proposing to introduce a penalty measure for poor progress for students enrolled in a targeted program, that is, when a potential employer pays for the education. Draft resolution published portal normative legal acts.

The document says that the requirements for student progress can be described in the agreement on the targeted education. We are talking about the discipline, modules, practices involved in the learning process. A potential employer can decide on student progress or failure based on the results of at least two assessments.

If the student misbehaved, the client may terminate the contract or reduce the level of financial support for the student. However, in the first case, the employer-client is obliged to help the student improve his academic performance, including by paying for additional education. Upon termination of the contract, the student will be liable to reimburse the tuition costs.

The decree is scheduled to enter into force on September 1, 2023 and will be valid until January 1, 2029.
