Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law establishing the minimum wage (minimum wage) in Russia in 2024 at 19,242 rubles per month. The document was published on the official site portal legal information.

The monthly minimum wage in 2023 is 16,242 rubles. Next year it will increase by three thousand rubles, or 18.5%. In addition, starting from 2025, the ratio of minimum wage to average wage is planned to be increased from 42 percent to 48 percent.

According to the Labor Code, the monthly salary of an employee who has worked full standard working hours and fulfilled his job duties cannot be lower than the minimum wage.

Before that, the Federation Council held a meeting approved Law on increasing the minimum wage (minimum wage) in 2024.

With data Starting January 1, 2024, employers who pay their employees less than 19,242 rubles may be fined up to 100 thousand rubles, said Irina Mikheeva, leading legal advisor of KSK GROUP.
