The Russian government is considering the possibility of removing export customs duties on Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which have been in effect since October 1. This was reported by RBC.

The government emphasized that the relevant measure is temporary and will be valid until the end of 2024, and that it is necessary to protect the Russian market from unfair price increases.

The removal of export duties to Abkhazia and South Ossetia will affect many products, including oil and petroleum products.

In addition, the government will grant Rosneft and its subsidiaries the exclusive right to export oil products from Russia to the specified republics without paying export duties within the framework of indicative balances (protocols) for six months.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach, in a letter to Rosneft, suggested considering the relevant measures.

On September 25, the Council of Ministers made adjustments to the document banning the export of petroleum products. In particular, authorities lifted restrictions on the export of oil products to South Ossetia and Abkhazia. More details in the material “Newspapers.Ru”.
