Russian coffee shops may reduce coffee quality requirements due to currency fluctuations. In this respect RIA News story, sales director of the company – RTC-Trading Sergey Rybenko, importer of green grains to Russia.

According to him, coffee purchases are made in dollars, so it can greatly affect purchasing power.

“Most likely coffee shop owners will buy low-quality coffee. The exchange rate now affects the consumption market much more than the stock prices of Arabica and Robusta coffee,” Rybenko explained.

He added that coffee is currently produced and exported in Central America, Africa and Asia, and there are no signs of change in these countries.

The average price of packaged coffee in September was 188 rubles, which is 5% more than last year.
