Moldova’s gross external debt increased by almost 7% in the first half of this year, reaching $10.242 billion, according to preliminary data from the Central Bank of the Republic, TASS reported.
During the reporting period, the gross external debt level relative to GDP increased by 1.1 points, reaching 67.2%.
According to the regulator, the share of public debt increased by 9.5% to $3.574 billion, accounting for 34.9% of the total debt.
It was learned that in the same period, the external liabilities of Moldova’s private sector increased by 5.3% to 6 billion 667 billion dollars.
As mentioned, in June 2022, Moldova’s external debt was less and stood at $8.617 billion.
