Russian airline Aeroflot withdrew 45% of its imported aircraft fleet from foreign registrations in September. The newspaper reports this “News”.
In September alone, 18 aircraft were removed from foreign registrations. To date, a total of 120 foreign-made aircraft have been removed from the foreign registry. The largest share of this figure is made up of Boeing 737 aircraft, with 55 units. The list of deregistered aircraft also includes 22 Boeing 777s, 15 Airbus A319s, 11 A330s, nine A320s, five A321s and three of the newest Airbus A350 aircraft.
According to experts, the removal of the aircraft fleet from foreign registry makes it possible to get rid of double registration of aircraft. This process allows you to increase the number of planes that can fly abroad. However, for the launch of new routes their commercial attractiveness and the existence of local counterparts who can maintain such aircraft are important, including the threat of secondary anti-Russian sanctions.
Previously reportedAeroflot said the airline will resume flights from Moscow to Hong Kong from December 23, 2023.
