Europe risks becoming increasingly dependent on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies from the United States. In this respect report Ditte Juul Jørgensen, director general of the European Commission Energy Directorate, told the Financial Times:
“We will need fossil fuels in the next few decades… And in this context, US fuels will also be needed,” he said.
At the same time, Jorgensen noted that the European Union has all the tools to survive a new winter energy crisis amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Before that, former Moldovan Prime Minister Alexander Muravsky statedHe said that the republic should start negotiations after conducting an audit of Moldovagaz’s debt to Gazprom. In his opinion, Moldovan authorities chose the path focused on opportunistic geopolitical interests.
