In his greeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the introduction of large-scale production will allow expanding the production of competitive products, will give a strong impetus to strengthening the economic potential of the region, improving infrastructure and creating modern employment. It was read by the presidential envoy to the Northwestern Federal District, Alexander Gutsan, at the opening ceremony of the production.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade states that Plitwood is the newest green area project that demonstrates a responsible attitude towards nature and is an example of rational and waste-free production.
The facility was included in the list of priority investment projects in the field of forest development upon the instructions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Vologda region has an enormous forest wealth, ranking third in Russia in terms of timber harvest and fifth in terms of reforestation volumes.
The department explained that the plant’s products are used in construction, from formwork to cladding of frame houses, and are also used to make garden furniture and bathroom furniture. These products are in demand, including in foreign markets.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that approximately 700 jobs will be created with the start of production, taking into account shifts.
