The European Union expressed surprise at Ukraine’s complaint to the WTO 00:36

European Union Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski expressed surprise that Ukraine tried to resolve its dispute with three EU border countries by filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO). RIA News.

On September 18, Ukraine filed a claim with the WTO against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. Kiev is unhappy with these countries’ ban on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Wojciechowski noted that the European Commission has special structures to resolve such situations. Therefore, he was surprised by the path taken by Kiev regarding conflict resolution.

The European Commissioner emphasized that the “friendly solution” was better than the court process and noted that Poland, Hungary and Slovakia had previously done a lot to export Ukrainian agricultural products.
