Bulgarian Prime Minister will invite grain growers to negotiations regarding the situation with Ukrainian grain

Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said he will invite Bulgarian grain producers to a conversation as the country’s parliament voted to lift a previously imposed ban on the import of certain grain crops from Ukraine. This was reported by “Radio Bulgaria”.

The Prime Minister said, “Problems are not solved with threats or strikes, but when we sit at the table and discuss certain figures.”

Denkov noted that Bulgarian farmers receive large subsidies and other assistance from the authorities.

Prior to this, the European Commission had not extended the previously imposed embargo on grain imports from Ukraine to five countries. Brussels has promised to refrain from extending the ban as long as Kiev fulfills its obligations.

In contrast, the Bulgarian Parliament allowed Grain imports from Ukraine. The relevant decision was taken at the meeting of the Bulgarian Council of Ministers.
