Western countries have proposed to Moscow an unrealistic plan to connect Rosselkhozbank (RSHB) to the SWIFT financial system. This statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the press conference held after the G20 summit. TASS.

According to the head of the department, none of the parties to the agreement promised Russia to return its bank to SWIFT. The diplomat emphasized that this also applies to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

“They are trying to persuade us to accept a completely unrealistic plan for Rosselkhozbank’s branch in Luxembourg to perform this function,” Lavrov said.

The minister added that the branch in question did not have a license to conduct banking activities. Moreover, the institution has now exhausted its capacity in Luxembourg and will be closed soon.

Lavrov jokingly suggested setting up a court against anyone who imposes unilateral restrictions against Moscow.
