Russian Post made changes to the rules for working with packages, allowing customers to check the cash content of delivery shipments before paying. In this respect informs Press office of the company.
Previously, this possibility existed only if there was a visible defect in the packaging or the weight of the package did not match the declared weight. Now the buyer has the right to ask the department employee to open the package and show the contents before deciding to pay.
“Our team has been working for a long time to make cash-on-delivery a truly secure transaction and give it a ‘second life’. This also required a change in legislation. The ability to check goods before purchasing is an essential service that must be available in online commerce,” Vladimir Davydov, Head of Financial Technologies Business Development at Russian Post.
After reviewing the attachments, the customer can pay for the package or refuse it. In the second case, the product will be returned. These changes became possible after the adjustment of the Rules for the provision of postal services, approved by the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.
