Columnist for the Swiss newspaper Neue Zurcher Zeitung Wolfgang Bock believesGermany will give up energy from Russia, making itself dependent on China.
Bock criticized the German authorities for their absolute commitment to the phasing out of nuclear power plants.
“After a rapid energy transition due to the Fukushima reactor accident … now Berlin is dependent on Chinese wind turbines and solar panels. You cannot call it wisdom,” he writes.
Bock does not support German plans to replace Russian gas with LNG from Qatar, due to the high cost and inadequate infrastructure.
He also pointed out that due to the rise in energy prices as a result of the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, German enterprises lost competition against Chinese manufacturers.
Earlier it was reported that the German authorities are planning to take desperate measures if Russia refuses to supply natural gas. German Economy Minister Robert Habeck going Submit an emergency decree that would allow the government to return coal and oil-fired power stations.
