Dairy products are more likely to cause distrust among Russians than others

Citizens check the milk an average of 250 thousand times a week. According to Revaz Yusupov, Deputy Director General of the Central Regional Development Center, the distrust of the population in this particular category of products is understandable.

“Dairy products are perishable, and labeling allows the buyer to not only determine whether the product is legally available for sale, but also easily check the actual expiration date,” Yusupov said.

In addition, the “Honest Mark” allows you to receive data on the quality of the product and the quality of the raw materials used for its manufacture. In total, more than 7 million units of such products have been checked since the introduction of dairy labeling.

Shoes are in second place in the number of scans. Since the launch of the mark, an average of 28.8 million pairs have been checked, with buyers scanning shoes about 100 thousand times a week. The CRPT reported that 17% of companies operating in the footwear market had previously registered violations. The volume of detected violations amounted to 5.8 billion rubles.

The Russians are also actively scanning for clothes, drugs and cigarettes. In total, more than 83 million goods were controlled by citizens by mid-May.

The labeling system for counterfeit products appeared in Russia in 2019. Simultaneously with the labeling, the Honest Sign application was developed, which is open to consumers, businesses and regulatory authorities. The consumer, who finds infringing products, can leave a complaint in the application. Information on all violations is forwarded to the control and supervisory authorities.
