European Commission (EC) Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis said the EC urged the Russian Federation to maintain the grain deal because Moscow’s restrictions on the supply of Ukrainian grain via the Black Sea are not only a problem for Kiev. This has been reported Reuters.

The EC Vice-President emphasized that Europe supports all the efforts of the United Nations (UN) and Turkey regarding the Black Sea Initiative, and that the EU provides alternative trade routes for the export of grain and other goods to Ukraine.
According to Dombrovskis, approximately 45 million tons of grain, oilseeds and related products have been exported via alternative routes through Poland and Romania so far. This is an important salvation for Ukraine.
