On August 22, trading of deliverable futures contracts for shares of Bashneft (a subsidiary of Rosneft) began on the Moscow Exchange futures market, the trading hall said that the lot was invested in the amount of one share.
It was noted that the Moscow Stock Exchange started futures transactions for the Bashkir oil company, as well as the shares of Kamaz, Bank Saint Petersburg, Moscow Credit Bank and M-Video.
Contracts expiring in September and December 2023 and March and June 2024 will be accepted for trading.
The exchange said that the expansion of instruments into securities will open up new opportunities for the implementation of trading strategies, as well as the possibility of protecting securities portfolios for the broadest range of investors.
According to experts, the launch of futures trading for Bashneft shares indicates investors’ interest in these securities, their high liquidity and growth prospects.
For example, Sergey Suverov, an investment strategist at Arikapital Management Company, considers Bashneft stock an attractive asset for investment.
“The company maintains a stable production level, has high-quality oil refining capacities, and adheres strictly to its approved dividend policy,” says the investment strategist.
According to him, the fact that the shares of the parent company Rosneft are currently the favorite of the Russian market provides additional support for Bashneft shares.
“Investors take into account the effective control of Rosneft management over costs and high corporate governance standards,” said Suverov.
The expert recalls that last week Rosneft completed the final payment of dividends for 2022 in the amount of 17.97 rubles per security.
Suverov stated that, taking into account the interim dividend payment for the first half of 2022, Rosneft’s total dividend per share for 2022 is 38.36 rubles, and the total amount of funds payable is 406.5 billion rubles.
