In connection with the new version of the amendments to the law on banks and banking activities, financial institutions will not be able to limit the size or number of transactions for transferring funds from account to account within 30 million rubles. The only exceptions would be wire transfers or card-to-card transfers that Russians make in person at a bank branch.

This bill will be discussed in the profile committee of the State Duma on July 17. In the draft law, there is a provision that the bank will be obliged to notify the customer of this situation free of charge, at least five days before the maturity of the deposit. Such a requirement is expected to come into effect six months after the law’s official publication, and nine months after the ban on fees for self-transfers.

Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the State Duma financial market committee, confirmed that it is indeed planned to set the limit at 30 million rubles. monthly and banks within this amount will be prohibited from limiting the size and number of remittances. Aksakov believes the bill will be passed in July this year.
