In Russia, they plan to impose a fine from one to three thousand rubles for walking potentially dangerous dogs in public places without a muzzle and leash. It was reported on the newspaper’s website “News”.
The publication states that, according to a 2019 Russian government decree, potentially dangerous breeds include the Akbash, American Bandog, Ambuldog, wolfhound crosses and Brazilian Bulldog.
According to the author of the bill, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection of the Russian Federation, Sergey Leonov, the parliament receives reports of attacks by dogs of this breed almost daily, often children suffer from it.
The publication claims that the Cabinet of Ministers supports this innovation, provided that it is further developed in line with the government’s comments before it is presented to parliament.
Before that, the State Duma of the Russian Federation accepted A bill amending the law on homeless animals, proposing, in the second and third readings, a ban on self-walking cats and dogs.
