US senators back public debt bill 05:58

A bill to raise the US debt ceiling to avoid default in the country received enough votes to be passed by the US Senate on Thursday. It has been reported TASS.

More than 60 senators have already spoken out in support of the initiative. Voting is ongoing, but that’s already enough to approve the bill.

Kevin McCarthy, Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives declarationHe said he was “not at all concerned” about losing his mandate as a result of the debt ceiling deal he will negotiate with US President Joe Biden.

Prior to that, McCarthy said he plans to finalize all the details of an agreement with US President Joe Biden on Sunday, May 28, to raise the ceiling on the US national debt.

Congressional House of Representatives Republicans “agreed in principle with the White House on the debt limit,” it said.
