Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor has stopped a gas leak at its Hammerfest LNG plant, but it’s hard to name the timing of the resumption of work so far. It has been reported TASS.
“The gas leak that occurred at the Hammerfest LNG facility in Melkiya on May 31 was stopped and the situation is now returning to normal,” the company said in a statement.
The publication states that the leak was caused by a valve malfunction in one of the cooling plant’s circuits.
Earlier it was known that gas prices in Europe have risen sharply. grew up 10%, i.e. over $300 per thousand cubic metres, due to reports of plant closures for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production in Norway.
On May 29, Sergei Kolobanov, deputy director of the Economic Center for Fuel and Energy Complexes, said that record high gas prices occurred last year, as Europeans expect fuel shortages in winter. However, Europe is more relaxed this year due to supply confidence.
