Russia to abolish excise taxes on paper beer and tobacco 08:09

In the first quarter of 2024, Russia will begin to waive its excise duties on tobacco and beer in paper form by converting them to digital format. In this respect report Referring to the document developed by the Ministry of Finance, RIA Novosti.

“The Russian Ministry of Finance has been instructed to develop and approve, together with the Operator-CRPT, an action plan (roadmap) for implementing the transition to payment of excise duty on tobacco and nicotine-containing products from 2024. labeling with identification tools,” stated in the document.

In the message, it was announced that the digital consumption tax will be implemented in Russia in the first quarter of 2024. At the same time, a pilot project will be conducted on the use of labeling data from May 2023 to July 2024.

The Ministry of Finance announced that as a result, the possibility of using labeling data, as well as the possibility of refusal to declare excise tax and transition to the regime of non-declaration, should be confirmed.

April 15 Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed A document according to which from April 15, 2023 to March 31, 2024, an experiment will be conducted in Russia to label red and black caviar. Several federal departments will monitor the implementation of the relevant decree.
