Ukraine’s underground gas storage (UGS) operator, Ukrtransgaz, has received a certificate of compliance with EU rules, which will enable Ukraine to use about half of its capacity to store gas reserves in European countries, Ukraine’s Energy Ministry said. It has been reported TASS.
The agency emphasized that on April 7, the National Commission, which handles state regulation in the fields of energy and utilities, decided to certify Ukrtransgaz as a gas storage operator.
“The decision was made after receiving the opinion of the energy community secretariat on the compliance of Ukrtransgaz certification with the provisions of the EU regulation,” Ukraine’s energy ministry said in a statement.
