The Ministry of Industry and Trade applied to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) with a complaint that Russian coal suppliers wanted to change their coking coal prices for the Russian market after the world markets. In this respect Wrote Vedomosti referred to a comment by Viktor Yevtukhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
According to Yevtukhov, if coal companies keep their promises, fuel prices for Russian metallurgists will increase by more than 40 percent, which will affect the final product. At the same time, according to him, the increase in coal prices at the beginning of the year was “insignificant”. Yevtukhov said that in the current circumstances it is “categorically unacceptable” to focus on world prices.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade expressed its intention to apply in advance to the FAS, other control authorities, the Attorney General’s Office to prevent price increases in metal products.
