McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempchinski announced the planned staff cuts in a letter to employees. It has been reported CNN.

Kempczynski noted that the company’s management would appreciate “the importance of maintaining certain positions and cadres”.

“Some initiatives will be downgraded and some will be eliminated altogether,” he said.

According to the director, such measures will help McDonald’s grow faster after reducing global spending and freeing up resources for investment.

According to CNN, the company’s management will announce the decision by April.
