The total volume of cash in circulation in Russia by the end of 2022 may exceed 16 trillion rubles, but the trend is unlikely to consolidate unchanged in the coming months. This was announced by Yuri Belikov, general director of the rating agency “Expert RA”. Wrote RBC edition.
According to the statistics of the Central Bank of Russia, at the beginning of December, cash in circulation in the country exceeded 15.5 trillion rubles, from January to November 2022 the volume of money supply increased by 11%, or 1.49 trillion rubles.
It also follows from the materials of the regulator that on December 23, 2022, the volume of cash issued, taking into account the balances in bank vaults, was 16.19 trillion rubles. In addition, according to the Central Bank, cash outflows through the banking system in December amounted to another 693.4 billion rubles.
Compared to 2021, the volume of cash in circulation increased by 5%. Only on February 25, the amount of such money increased by 1.41 trillion rubles, on September 22 and 23 – after the announcement of partial mobilization – a record increase of 246.3 billion rubles.
