Yle: Finland increases nickel imports from Russia by 60% 15:48

According to published data, Finland buys more than 160 million Euros of nickel from Russia every month. It is recorded that this metal currently accounts for two-thirds of all imports from Russia to the republic.

According to the channel, Norilsk Nickel’s Finnish subsidiary, Nornickel Harjavalta, continues to operate at full capacity. According to the company’s general manager, Yoni Palojärvi, at least 500 people work at the plant in Harjavalta.

It is also stated that the Estonian company Operail AS is shipping nickel from Russia to Suomi, as the Finnish railway company VR Group plans to stop freight transport to Russia by the end of 2022.

Formerly RIA Novosti published Analysis results based on data from the national statistical offices of EU countries, according to which France increased the volume of imports of Russian goods by 25% on a monthly basis to 1.1 billion Euros in August 2022.
