Russia starts the labeling of electronic cigarettes and electronic cigarette liquids from 15 December 20:19

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the mandatory labeling of electronic cigarettes and vape liquids from December 15. Document published official portal legal information.

According to the decision, from 15 December, tobacco and tobacco products intended for “heated consumption” and “liquids, in cartridges, in capsules” systems for electronic nicotine delivery systems, including those without nicotine as part of disposable electronic nicotine delivery, are subject to labeling.

The Financial Times newspaper, which refers to the draft document of the European Commission WroteThat European Union (EU) officials could tax e-cigarettes as part of the change in taxation of the tobacco industry, doubling the excise duty on cigarettes in EU member states with low taxes in this industry. First of all, the new EU measures will affect Eastern European countries, where tobacco products traditionally cost less than Western countries in the bloc. Tightening taxation in the European Union will lead to the most significant increase in cigarette prices, especially in Eastern European countries.
