Most Russians look for 10-year-old cars with a range of 150 to 170 thousand kilometers on the secondary market, Oleg Amirov, chairman of the Union of Auto Experts and Appraisers, said in an interview with Sputnik Radio. The main demand in the market now looks like this:
A year earlier, potential buyers of used cars made higher demands. They were looking for cars between five and seven years old with a range of up to 100,000 kilometers. This was the most common request.
It is clear that the rise in used car prices has affected buyers’ preferences. If previously for 500 thousand rubles it was possible to buy a 5-7 year old car with a mileage of less than 100 thousand, now for a car with such characteristics they are already asking for 700-900 thousand rubles. As a result, buyers were forced to lower the demand bar.
