Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Kairbek Uskenbaev, was asked whether the authorities intend to monitor the car sales market in Russia and other countries.
“The laws of economics are such that the whole world fights for the market. And the more we sell our products, the more they develop both technologically and economically. These are also new jobs,” Tengrinews.kz reports Uskenbaev’s words.
The state sees no great excitement that it is the Russians buying up local cars. There is information that the citizens of Kazakhstan buy them themselves and then resell them. But these statistics are difficult to collect.
In any case, no one is going to restrict foreigners from buying Kazakh cars. You just need to increase production volumes and not stop someone from buying.
“We are always looking for ways to use force to solve the problem. Forbidding something, taking something from someone, not letting someone in. Let’s solve these problems economically. We have to stimulate our car industry to produce even more cars,” said the minister.
However, cars purchased under a preferential program are not allowed to go abroad under any circumstances, the minister noted. We are talking about state subsidies – certain categories of citizens are given the right to buy a car without a deposit, at 4%, to use this car themselves. This is where the state of Kazakhstan is going to introduce strict restrictions so that these particular cars do not go abroad.
