Unfortunately, situations in which they sell a restored part under the guise of a new one are not uncommon. But a number of signs will certainly show you whether this is a new part or a counterfeit, albeit made on the basis of a branded node. The GAZ Auto Youtube channel tells about this based on the example of a gearbox from a GAZelle car.
The presenters took two transmission units and compared them.
There are quite a few differences:
- The analog node has no warranty card
- The original box uses an anaerobic sealant that is safe for internal parts; in analog – silicone
- On the toe of the input shaft, the analog has traces of sandpaper; on the keyway part – sandblasting drawing
- The body of the analogue has too uniform a color – the box is painted
- There is a barcode sticker on the original box.
- When dissecting, there are signs of wear, burns on the internal parts of the analogue; Some parts have clearly been replaced by new ones.
Of course there is no specific crime in the restored nodes – unless of course they are passed on as new ones. By purchasing such a box, the motorist will get a unit that will be installed on the car and will serve without any problems. But how long it will take remains to be seen only experimentally. Whether such an experiment is necessary is up to you.
