The Kaliningrad company Avtotor will complete the work in October, writes RIA Novosti citing the company’s press service.
The company’s margin of safety turned out to be much higher than many other factories, said company founder Vladimir Shcherbakov. Despite the fact that a large number of foreign-made components are used here during the assembly, the sanctions against Avtotor were the last to go into effect.
Avtotor has already announced the launch of the production of new car brands at its facilities. The plant plans to reach a significant volume of new car production by 2023, although it does not specify specific brands. It is only known that, along with the Chinese, there will be an electric car and versions of electric cars for people with reduced mobility.
Vladimir Shcherbakov noted that the whole of October will be devoted to adjusting production, taking into account the new policies and new models, “adapted to the new conditions for the development of Russia as a whole and production in the country.”
It was also noted that the construction of eight new factories, in which more than 5.7 billion rubles has been invested, is being completed at the Avtotor production site.

In the spring, Avtotor suspended the assembly of BMW cars and kept stock of components for Kia and Hyundai cars for three months. In May, the plant resumed work, but reduced car production by 4.5 times – to 200 units per day. It was also claimed that 10,000 kits had been collected at the factory, which were left idle in the absence of electronics.
