The next Open Doors Day was held at the Yuzhny branch on September 3. This branch provides the operation of bus lines in four districts of the capital – in the south, southwest, southeast and central parts of the city. The park on Kashirskoye Highway is designed for 400 buses.
To introduce visitors to promising technology, an electric bus KAMAZ-6282 was brought to the demonstration site. Such electric buses have been operating in the capital since 2018 and, according to representatives of Mosgortrans, they show high reliability.
Meanwhile, the fleet is mainly operated by vehicles like LiA3-4292, 5292 and 6213, which are also quite reliable and convenient for passengers and drivers. Visitors were introduced to the structure of modern city buses and communicated with their drivers. A separate booth was devoted to fire safety. Anyone can learn to use a fire extinguisher and try on a fire helmet. Those who wanted to do so were mainly boys who came to the Open House Day with their parents or small businesses. On this day, everyone was allowed to enter the park without exception.
Visitors in groups of 10-15 people were taken on a tour of the park, showing the administration building with an emergency room and medical examination room for drivers prior to the ride. Here it was possible to undergo the same checks that drivers undergo every day before they leave for a flight: measure pressure and heart rate, bladder and breath analysis …
In the technical room they showed how the bus air conditioning is maintained and the cooling system pipe is replaced as part of maintenance. Buses are serviced once every 15,000 km – despite the fact that the monthly mileage is 7,000 – 10,000 km. Even taxis don’t have that many miles.
The park is huge. And all the more surprising is the cleanliness (they say they didn’t put things in order here especially for the Open Day, but maintained it all the time), as well as the fact that the park has a functioning library, well-equipped gym, a large hall for football and basketball, and even a dance hall! Women also work here (both coordinators and even drivers).
More than 500 people came to the Mosgortrans Open Doors Day and a third (almost every adult visitor) applied for a job. Drivers are promised a wage in the range of 80,000-130,000 rubles. The work is hard, not everyone is hired and not everyone who has made it through the selection stays. But the constantly growing city needs it.
